Center for Historical Fencing

A resource hub for those teaching Medieval, Renaissance, or Enlightenment Swordplay

Become A Member

Membership is open to United States Fencing Coaches Association members and to all who have research and teaching interests in fencing in the Middle Ages, Renaissance, and Enlightenment.  A $10.00 annual membership fee is assessed to help meet the costs of operating the Center.

All Members are expected to support the mission and values of the Center, and to work collaboratively to expand knowledge of and interest in the historical use of swords and polearms in the Middle Ages, Renaissance, and Enlightenment.  Members are expected to actively engage with the programs of the Center.

Membership is a privilege extended by Salle Green LLC, the host of the Center, and may be revoked at any time with or without cause.

Center membership engages you directly in the development of historical fencing in the professional coaching community and helps to build a wider understanding of the history and evolution of fencing.

Members have an active role in determining and designing programs offered by the Center to fulfill its mission.

Members receive priority in using the Center's resources to support their research and teaching activities, including editorial and research assistance.

The Center provides its members a method of peer reviewed publication of papers on the content of historical fencing and methods for its instruction.

Members may use the Center's Skill Development Program to encourage and recognize the development of historical technique among new students.

Members may use the Center's Coat of Arms on letterhead, business cards, and wesbites to indicate their relationship with the Center during the period of their membership and wear the Center's patch on fencing clothing.
